what distro are you looking at for these versions.
I've included links. It's the latest version of Ubuntu LTS.
Linux distros tend to update the libraries with each release, but not update the library versions during a release (although they may backport fixes, which makes the version number mean a little less)
Yup. And that means that if you want to support LTS distros like RHEL/CentOS or Ubuntu LTS then you must support old versions of libraries then it's much easier to bundle then - in this case you know you always have the version you've included.
