Bodhi Linux, the Beautiful Configurable Lightweight Linux (Linux.com)

Here's a review of Bodhi Linux on the Linux.com site. "The fancy profile greets you with a dozen virtual desktops and a shower of penguins, some of who sadly meet their demise. Then you can customize any of the profiles any way you like with different themes, Gadgets, whatever you want, and quickly switch between them without logging out. So you could have a work and home profile, a single and multi-monitor profile, a travel profile."

Great! Because, you know, there aren't enough distros already

These people should just go and do something useful for a change. Sorry for being blunt, but it's the sad truth. Nobody needs more Linux distros.

Nobody needs more Linux distros.

.. or programming languages, window managers, editors, shells, paintings, pieces of sculpture, car models.... after all we already have several examples of each of these. I fact I bet huge savings could be attained by dressing everyone in a practical durable uniform, instead of the mad variety you see in clothing stores.

(;-)

I heard that after the Russian revolution, for a few decades there were 3 different models of underpants which were produced: "Civilian underpants", "military short underpants", and "military long underpants". And yes, the "civilian underpants" were a model for men as well.. ;-)

ISO approved socks

Now, if there was a single ISO approved model of sock, pairing socks would be much easier :)

This is useful, for demonstrating to other distro maintainers a good philosophy of user opt-in instead of user opt-out.

Not to mention that every time Compiz did some new shiny thing, Rasterman et al. were saying in the background, "We were doing that over five years ago..."

Maybe they should have released their window manager then. ;-)

Joking aside, since the EFL libraries had their first stable release last year we may see an E17 release soon.

I'll try again, but the first time I ran it from CD the computer ejected the CD on shutdown and didn't turn off.

Still - quite artistic. I'll keep an eye on it.

That first comment out of the gate had to be a joke. With freedom comes diversity. I love that!

Turns out the problem is that I didn't see (or there isn't) a message telling me to hit Return. That works.
