Lennart Poettering listened to his pulse audio triggered mind
and uttered :

"Solaris implemented the core part of the /usr merge 15 years ago already, and completed it with the introduction of Solaris 11. Solaris has /bin and /sbin only as symlinks in the root file system, the same way as you will have after the /usr merge: Transitioning From Oracle Solaris 10 to Oracle Solaris 11 - User Environment Feature Changes. "

I can remember the times when the old timer BSD dudes were raving mad
as (s)hell bombs when SUN OS got trashed into something like Solaris.
And they got good arguments for that. Maybe consult first with the
chiefs of OpenBSD and FreeBSD why your suggestion would be a brilliant
move, before your trigger us into this concocted move and shot in
the arm for that poorly designed project called ("Open")Solaris.

Many of us got our freedom back by going to Linux, thereby leaving
Windows, Solaris, [Insert your oldie OS here]. Don't force us into a
merger which will move Linux also onto this garbage dump of discarded
oldie Operating Systems.
