"Open Advice" from 42 free software contributors

"Open Advice" is a new book consisting of essays from some 42 community authors; it is available in print form or downloadable under the CC-BY-SA license. "This book is the answer to 'What would you have liked to know when you started contributing?'. The authors give insights into the many different talents it takes to make a successful software project, coding of course but also design, translation, marketing and other skills. We are here to give you a head start if you are new. And if you have been contributing for a while already, we are here to give you some insight into other areas and projects."

It would be great to have this in epub format. It is much easier to read on small-screen devices.

There is an epub target available in the makefile. Worked for me after I added tex4ht.

We're working on epub and other formats. Conversion is quite tricky it seems. Hopefully they're ready in the next days. I'll send announcements to the info channels mentioned on the website as soon as they're available.

Targets are available already in the make file but the result still has problems.

Another option besides calibre for creating epubs is pandoc. Actually the latest version was just released, and in the past few weeks pandoc has seen a huge improvement in the latex pandoc input, so you could try pandoc to convert latex directly to epub.

yes - cover art is missing, and so are author names.
Content seems readable though.
