I think this is well within the best standards of journalistic integrity and is not an opinion piece by the author although the second half is reporting on the opinions of others which may have confused you.

Maybe it's because I've had too many "beer conversations" with Jake, that I read into what he writes a bit too much ;-)

Seriously though, I didn't look at the author of the article as I read it. As I was more than half way down, I was thinking "hmm, this has the sound of Jake's opinions", and then I scrolled back up, and sure enough it was him.
