Kernel release status Posted Sep 4, 2003 19:57 UTC (Thu) by KeyResearch (guest, #14583) [Link] HPET (not HPTE) is an Intel-developed standard, but it's supported by both AMD and Intel. Typically, the HPET lives in the northbridge. I think most modern northbridges have them.
