If the system is sold with Windows pre-installed then this would be one of the few configurations that make sense.

The trick here if you want a Linux friendly setup then you must purchase your hardware from a Linux friendly vendor.

The OEMs I was referring to above include everbody implementing UEFI code. Don't just dream big. The premise needs to be that this is a legitimate public policy matter (which it is).
