Well said. The first generation of manufacturers that tried to produce 'IPv6 certified' gear tried to make their old kernels (usually 2.6.16 based) do it, on hardware designs and assumptions that were equally old, and failed.

The only solution to having gone off that cliff that jg and I could come up with was to try and prove that the modern kernel development process was the fastest and best way to swap out the wheels and engine, and install wings before we hit bottom.
