... considering that all of the major shells described predate Linux, which did not exist until 1991. There's nothing "in Linux" about the topic.

so you're suggesting that there ought to be a linsh that only understands a unpublished binary format based on guile?

Of course not. Rather, Linux is just a kernel, and the Posix world is much older and bigger. Linux was initially built so the pre-existing GNU and BSD userland utilities could run on cheap hardware; the shells came first.

He's only saying there's a mismatch between the title and text. Usually the fix is to rewrite the title, not the text.

Yeah. A better title would have been "A history of the shells that are available in Linux."

"A history of a few of the shells that are available in Linux", but not zsh.
