From DWN:
"Members of the FSF have approached us to give them some more
time to come up with a GNU FDL which is DFSG-free"

Music to my ears. This issue has been iritating me for a long time.

Before you get too excited, you may wish to read my message to RMS about this claim and his reply.

Sorry do disappoint you, but here RMS just said:

Second, the FSF is not working on changing the GFDL now. We intend to continue to use invariant sections that cannot be removed, as we have always done. The only issue being considered (if it is still being considered) is what decision Debian will make about use of the GFDL.

Which means, even if an obvious and easy bug in FDL clause 2 is fixed, invariant sections are not going away, while, according to preliminary results of this survey, vast majority of debian-legal subscribers believe that invariant sections are non-free.
