I don't think the FSF wants the elimination of copyright and I didn't
intend that in my earlier post. My guess is that the FSF would welcome
a law that said all software should be released with a copyleft license.
The FSF would welcome a legal requirement to make all software free
but does not advocate one now. It would be too drastic a change
for the current situation.
