A new project called Tizen has
announced its existence. It is essentially the amalgamation of the MeeGo
and LiMo projects, directed by Samsung and Intel. " Tizen will
support multiple device categories, such as smartphones, tablets, smart
TVs, netbooks, and in-vehicle infotainment devices. The Linux Foundation
will host the project, where Tizen development will be completely open and
led by a technical steering team composed of Intel and Samsung."
The first release is due in the first quarter of next year.

The Free Software Foundation Europe blog has an interview
with Stefan Kangas. " Stefan Kangas is studying his third year of his
bachelors degree in Computer Science at the University of Gothenburg. He is
currently the president of the recently started Fripost: the free e-mail
association."
