Twinkle isn't maintained (qt3/kde3, doesn't work with pulseaudio, etc...) and ekiga has this odd habit of either hanging or consuming 100% CPU. Linphone "just works" for me and plays nice with or without pulseaudio.

While mentioning alternatives, I have to mention Blink (icanblink.com). It's open source, and while they now focus on their Mac Version, the QT version works just great under Linux.
I really want to like gnomemeeting aka ekiga, but it's way to brittle and inconvenient to use, even when it works.
