Not sure anyone should mourn the passing of another proprietary OS. Nobody says they're dropping WebOS, the software, yet. They said they would stop making WebOS devices. On the other hand, whether HP will manage to get somebody else interested in making devices to run WebOS, to a point where it makes sense to put resources into developing the software further, is anyone's guess so we shouldn't be surprised to see them shut down WebOS altogether at some point down the road.
