Desktop Summit: Copyright assignments

Copyright assignment (or licensing) agreements for projects is a rather
contentious issue that reflects differing views of how free software will
be best-positioned to grow over the coming years. Several perspectives
were on display at the "Panel on Copyright Assignment" held on August 6 at the Desktop
Summit in Berlin. The panel consisted of two opponents of such
agreements, Michael Meeks and Bradley Kuhn, as well as perhaps their most
outspoken proponent, Mark Shuttleworth, with GNOME Foundation executive
director Karen Sandler handling the moderation duties. Subscribers can
