This was by far one of the most entertaining, interesting, and informative articles I've seen on LWN, and that's a *high* bar. Plenty of whimsy but never at the cost of substance.

Strongly seconded, though I'm not sure I'll be using the 'model on people' thing myself on account of being better with machines than people. (I tried modelling people as machines but they tended to get offended.)
A truly excellent article.
