These users that statistically don't exist (geeks) are the only ones that could possibly be excited about such things and spread the word to the people who statistically exist (normal ppl) but would never find such things on their own.

GNOME developers are shooting themselves in the foot, like a politician that is pissing constituents of his own party because his target is the general population anyway... Good luck with that.
