A Firefox user plays with Chromium

There was a period of time when it seemed that Internet Explorer was set to be the only web browser with any significant presence; Linux users looked to be doomed to a barely-supported web life using niche browsers. The success of Firefox saved us from that fate; for a while, it seemed that Firefox was set to take over. But the situation is more complicated than that; now the press is talking about the rapid rise of Google's "Chrome" browser. Your editor, having not seriously messed with Chrome/Chromium for some time, decided to experiment with using it full-time for a while.
