The Ada Initiative is opening its first fundraising campaign, the Seed 100 campaign! The Seed 100
campaign will fund our remaining startup costs, in particular project development for projects like
First Patch Week, and continued work on conference policy development, so that we can take them to
future partners and larger donors.
The Seed 100 campaign is for donations of $512 and over. Donors at the $512 level (the "Difference
Engineer" level) will get a conference badge lanyard and a signed laptop sticker. We have a very
exciting reward for donations of $1024 and over (the "Analytical Engineer" level): The first 25
donations of $1024 and over will receive a signed print by Sydney Padua, creator of the "2D
Goggles: The Thrilling Adventures of Lovelace and Babbage" (http://sydneypadua.com/2dgoggles/),
designed especially for the Ada Initiative. Later donors at this level will receive a print of an
especially commissioned portrait of Ada Lovelace, signed by Valerie or Mary.
You can donate now at http://adainitiative.org/2011/06/seed-100-funding-round-o...
If you're not able to donate to this campaign, we definitely understand. We'd still very much
appreciate any help you can give in spreading the word. There's some suggested text at
http://adainitiative.org/2011/06/seed-100-funding-round-o... with links for easy tweeting
and such. Blog posts, re-tweets, Facebooking etc all appreciated too.
We're very much looking forward to sharing the results of this work with you all!
Mary and Valerie
