We should rename the system to XFree86/Linux. After all, there's some precedent to calling an OS by the name of its window system...

I'm sure you're aware, but it's 2011 and XFree86 is a zombie with a shotgun wound in its foot.

I didn't realise how dead it was. Most recent release 2008; ChangeLog lists a release on ?? February 2009, so presumably hasn't been touched much since then; cvsweb shows that even the 4.8.0 release notes were never completed. X server changelog last updated on Feb 1 2009. Not a single update that I can see after that date.

Zombies with shotgun wounds in their feet move more than this. This is a project with zero active developers. (I wonder what David Dawes is doing with his time, now he threw his co-developers out of the house because they wouldn't give him enough credit and discovered that when they've left the house is so very empty?)
