CalDAV has been around for ages, and comes with tasks. Why is it that neither Android nor Maemo supports it baffles and depresses me.

yes. I really cannot believe there is no support for direct caldav.
There was an app for it some time ago that added caldav sync support, but I recently reinstalled my phone and now i do not see it in the market anymore.

I sync my phone with my wife's and our multitude Sunbird/Iceowl/Lightning schedulers using Davical. The standard iPhone calendar handles events just fine. However, the todo list is not supported by it (yet?).
