Hi Jonathan.
Not sure if you'll spot this but I can't help but wish lwn had a way to follow and be notified of comments in comment threads. Sometimes a good discussion gets going but you have to manually go back and look to see if you missed a response.

I'm not Jonathan (nor do I play one on TV :) but there are a couple of things that may help here:
Subscribers can see the "Unread comments" on all articles by following that link on left hand side of the page.
Top-level subscribers can request email for all comments on a specific article.
Also, unread comments in a comment thread are now highlighted in a different color.

US$7.00 per month, or US$84 (pre-discount) per year. In addition to access to subscriber-only content, subscribers at this level have access to a number of additional site features, including the ability to turn off advertisements, filter comments based on author, or receive comment notifications via email.

Thank you for those suggestions. I wasn't aware that that support was available. Maybe I'll upgrade my account to get that feature...

They also get an improved article view which highlights comments posted since the last time they looked.

Indeed, at first I was like "what the heck just happened, LWN looks old-school normally, but now it is also GRAY!"
But for all of you cheap normal-level subscribers: This feature alone is worth an upgrade! :P
