New Version of Zeus Web Server Optimized for High-Performance - more than

Cambridge, United Kingdom  July 8, 2002 -- Zeus® Technology, Ltd., the

64-bit optimized version of the flagship Zeus Web Serverž¹ as optimized for 
the Intel® Itanium®  2 architecture and HP-UXž¹ 11i Operating System, as 
well as the Linux® Operating System.  The new version of the Zeus Web 
Server is designed for optimized deployment on the newly-announced HP 
Server rx2600 and HP Server rx5670.  Both Zeus and HP have worked closely 
together during the Itanium 2 development project to ensure the robust, 
scalable Web software performance demanded by HP customers on both HP-UX 
and Linux.

The result of this dual effort is seen in the combination of Zeus Web 
Server and the new Itanium 2 HP servers, which together set a dramatically 
higher benchmark for processing transactions on e-commerce web sites.  On 
SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) transactions, typically used in securing 
payments on the Web, the Zeus /HP-UX Itanium 2 combination benchmarked at 
more than 750 SSL operation per second, compared to 175 SSL operations per 
second on Zeus/Linux and Pentium® III and 60 SSL operations per second on 
Zeus/Solaris and UltraSPARC® III.

HP-UX is a 64-bit UNIX® system that provides specific compatibility with 
Itanium 2, thanks to HPž²s co-development of the architecture with

Chipset zx1, the new HP Server rx2600 and HP Server rx5670 offer 
significant advantages over servers based on IA-32 or RISC processors. The

offers a 2U footprint, but can be equipped with up to two 1-GHz Intel
