Kernel release status
The current development kernel is 2.6.39-rc3, released on April 11. Linus said:
It's been another almost spookily calm week. Usually this kind of
calmness happens much later in the -rc series (during -rc7 or -rc8,
say), but I'm not going to complain. I'm just still waiting for the
other shoe to drop.
And it is possible that this really ended up being a very calm release cycle. We certainly didn't have any big revolutionary changes like the name lookup stuff we had last cycle. So I'm quietly optimistic that no shoe-drop will happen. The short-form changelog is in the announcement, or see the full changelog for all the details. Stable updates: no stable updates have been released in the last week. The 2.6.38.3 update is in the review process as of this writing; it can be expected sometime on or after April 14. The 2.6.33.10 and 2.6.32.37 updates are also in the review process, with an expected release on or after April 15. (Log in to post comments)
