One positive thing about these agreements: they only offer "all-permissive license" or "copyright assignment with all-permissive license back to the contributor", both of which allow the contributor to do as they wish with their own code; they don't offer an agreement which restricts the contributor's use of their own code.

On the other hand, this does indeed seem like it conveys a lot of legitimacy to the more restrictive copyright transfer agreements, by presenting them as variations on more reasonable options.
