This looks very interesting, and may be just what I need for a potential project. I would be very interested in reading about any experiences anyone has had using Yocto.

i don't know what happened, after 7 hours it's still compiling for the base-image, note i downloaded the prebuilt toolchain to save time(which could be a few hours I guess)... this just takes too long on my core2duo 3GB ubuntu.

first time build needs download lots of packages, it's better to make a tarball for the release, that should save some download time, but still, the process is too long.

8 hours for a 77MB base image build, using prebuilt toolchain, too long indeed.
the default package format is rpm instead of ipk now,strangely.
