I haven't tried SUSE since the 8.* days and give 11.4 a try. What I didn't like (I used it with Gnome):
- the fonts are ugly.. really ugly. Everything is set to Serif by default.
- I found the install/remove applications program somewhat strange. After the first start, it recommended dozens of programs I should install, like Java and various 32bit apps (I used the 64bit distro).
- When the updates are finished, the program just closes itself. I found that rather surprising, because I didn't know wether it crashed or succeded.
The font problem is not SUSE-specific. Only Ubuntu gets this somewhat right. Really a shame that we still can't match Windows or Mac OS X in terms of font quality. It's 2011...
