Hm, let's hope RH does not get eaten by the dogs. This move does not seem to be aimed at Debian.
Since I have no stake in the thing ... Caldera (back when they were "good") were heavily criticized for their attempt to license "per seat." A short time later RH did something very similar with RHEL and didn't create the same terrible reactions ... but some worries. Turns out those concerns were unfounded. The Enterprise distributions have greatly enhanced Linux' credibility in the wider world.
If this move reminds the rest of the world to work upstream a bit more, rather than waiting for RH to do the work, not bad.
