On the other hand, I've not paid for anything from Red Hat anyway, just am wondering whether paying customers are stripped off those rather valuable resources as well.

I don't think they are. As a customer you have access to an interface that let you browse these sources with references to erratas, bugzillas, changelogs and patches now.

Where is that interface?

I have been looking around https://access.redhat.com and cannot see anything like a kernel source browser.

Any pointers? Thx.
