Apparently, yes. However, this is not news; Not too long ago I used to run CentOS 5 on a laptop, where the Intel wireless card showed up as iwl0 rather than ethX. Not that it ever bothered me. Why can't they write a udev rule to do naming based on bus location to the proper eth? Apparently, the ethX namespace is verboten because it races with the kernel detected devices.
