For a web-based RSS reader you could try our Gregarius:

I've been using it for a few months and it a reasonably nice, but I only subscribe to ~15 feeds. Unfortunately it also seems to be no longer maintained.

Just so you know, I tested both Gregarious and tt-rss, but found tt-rss much better. However, your needs/wants and preferences might very well be the stark opposite of mine :-)
