This kinda invalidates any reader that is tied to any given desktop. However I do run my own server so I will have a look at tt-rss as using open source web-based tools is still preferable to being tied to a proprietary service that operates on the whim of it's corporate overlord*. * not that I'm overly worried about Google going evil and shafting my RSS reading experience.
