I take it from the tone of this discussion that Theo's actions are treading an ethical gray area. There's obviously good arguments on either side of whether what he did was appropriate. I personally applaud him for exposing even the mere possibility of a back door (thereby likely deploying developers and hackers to thoroughly examine the code), but I also agree that he may have been wise to ask Perry's permission to post the e-mail verbatim. Just my observation from the gallery, and my $0.02.
