I would amend this to *try to make a fool* because not only have I never seen our editor make any kind of fool of himself, I do not think he is capable of being a total fool, except, well, when it comes to wanting to contribute so much by way of LWN.

yes, he's a failure in that regard. Trying to make a fool of himself but rarely succeeding ;-)
