Hello, this is Bill Kendrick from the Linux Users' Group of Davis.
Our group is one of four putting together this year's Silicon Valley area
picnic, in celebration of Linux's birthday.
I was hoping LWN.net would be willing to post a short note about it.
Here are the details:
On the Saturday following LinuxWorld Expo -- August 9th -- Linux users
groups will gather in Sunnyvale to celebrate the Linux operating system's
12th birthday.
What started in 2001 with "Linux10," continues for its third year in a row.
This year's event is being put together by the Silicon Valley
[www.svlug.org], East Bay [www.eblug.org] and Davis [www.lugod.org]
Linux Users Groups, and sbay.org [www.sbay.org]. It's being sponsored by
Oracle Corp. [www.oracle.com]
The picnic event is completely free, and free food will be served.
It's a family-oriented gathering, so bringing the spouse and kids is
encouraged! You must RSVP in advance, however.
For more information, and to RSVP, visit: LinuxPicnic.org
[www.linuxpicnic.org]
Thanks! :)
