The Borland developer network features an interview of Bruce Eckel. "OOP guru Bruce Eckel talks about his initial skepticism about C# (but now calls it "a better Java"), wishes Borland would create a Python IDE, explains why he's suspicious of Mono, and asks us to click the wombat."

Out of context. He's actually suspicious of Microsoft's cross-platform story and proprietary lock-in. He thinks Mono can be torpedoed by MS' legal team. And that is not news; even Miguel de Icaza has said that Mono can be seen as a test of MS willingness to play fair, and at the worst case will expose MS evil once more while giving free software a nice language.
