Hi all.

I'm happy to be able to announce 1.1-pre1, which is being uploaded to
swsusp as this email is sent.

This version adds swapfile support to swsusp. In order to accomplish
this, swsusp's method of storing data has been rewritten, so there may
be new bugs for you to discover that I've missed in my testing to date.
(Particularly when you try things I never considered!) Please handle
with care, particularly if you choose to try swapfile support. I
recommend maintaining a separate partition for your swapfile at the
moment, and putting some copies of other files in there as well (ones
which can be easily checked for corruption). This is not to say that I
guarantee that problems will only affect that partition containing the
swapfile. I accept no responsibility whatsoever if this version of
swsusp should do any damage to your data, your cat or anything else
nearby or far away.

If you want to use a swapfile, you still need a small swap partition, in
which swsusp can store the header and range pages. The minimum should
suffice in most cases. This partition should still be specified using
the resume= option, but the partition does not need to be 'swaponed'
when you start a suspend cycle. If it is not enabled, swsusp will swapon
it and turn it off again after resuming.

This version includes a couple of other bug fixes and enhancements of
note:

- Fix for the 'lots-of-minuses-during-freezing' problem. I haven't seen
this issue on my computer, but believe I've fixed the wonky logic that
caused others to get this.
- Page checksumming is gone. It shouldn't be needed any more, and the
new data structure doesn't handle such data easily anyway.
- Made many proc entries dependant upon debugging being compiled in.

Regards,

Nigel
