One hopes the Editor's perception that "many of the developers in the room remained mostly unconcerned about the kernel's security record" is wrong. Linux has just about vanquished any significant competition in the embedded market and the rewards for pwning those systems can be rich, indeed.

you are reading this as "developers don't worry about security" when I read it as "developers think they are doing a decent job with security and don't see a pressing reason to make changes"
