I couldn't find any connection to Angel Investors and Canopy Group.

(...which amounts to the same thing, right?) What I'm not convinced of (having only heard it in the above posting) is the part about the Angel group, and the LDS connection. I'm inclined to be a bit suspicious of the "Angel" name, since that's a pretty generically used name for VCs in certain situations, if I remember right... but, YMMV...* ;-)*your memory may vary
