How not to recognize free hardware
An opportunity to recognize and promote freedom-supporting hardware has been lost, and that is a sad thing.
I wonder if it even worse than that: If not FSF, what other organization might credibly create a certification mark like this, but without the unacceptable bits?
The Linux Foundation? Too much a vendor organization, so their definition of open hardware would probably not be strict enought (eg allow closed drivers), and besides they are tied to Linux.
SPI (Software in the Public Interest)? Maybe this would be up their alley, but they are not so well known, and do they have resources? Who else?
