New Fedora Linux Project Leader Building More Than a Distro (CIO Update)

Sean Michael Kerner talks with Fedora Project Leader Jared Smith. "Smith's vision for Fedora is about ensuring that the Fedora community is an inclusive place where multiple views and contributions are welcome. Smith doesn't necessarily have any new or unique tools for building community, but he does bring a different background to the position than past Fedora Project Leaders. "I came from another open source company that had the same business model as Red Hat," Smith said. "So I've had some experience in how to keep people motivated, how to move things forward and I think we've already implemented some of the things that I like to see.""

New Fedora Linux Project Leader Building More Than a Distro (CIO Update)

I am changing to Debian Unstable. Redhat is too far behind and Fedora is too far ahead. A good solution would be for Fedora 12 to accompany the kernel 2.6.32 long maintenance, since that is not going to happen the only alternative is to accompany it through Debian. The other alternative would be for me to find out how to build custom Fedora kernels, I have installed the source kernel for the F10 but was seeing all the hidden files.
