It's a bit disappointing that only one of the most popular add-ons examined checked nsIPrivateBrowsingService. This is something that the AMO staff should review for, in my opinion.

Speaking as an add-on author (whose simple add-on does test for private browsing mode), I've received multiple emails from concerned users asking if my add-on honours private browsing. And mine is hardly so popular. So at least it's doubtful that ignorance could be a legitimate excuse.
