Remotely wiping mobile phones

The protocol used by Exchange email clients contains an interesting non-email-related feature: the ability to trigger a complete wipe of all user data from the central server. This "feature" is implemented by a number of mobile devices, including webOS and Android-based phones. It turns out that some corporate email administrators are starting to use this capability in an attempt to carry out "approved device" policies, with unfortunate effects on unsuspecting employees.
