Bug trackers and kernel development

I remember when EGCS had no bug tracker, bugs would merely be reported to
the bugs list. I'd go around with a list of half a dozen bugs in my head,
and attempt to fix them. If I forget, then the report fell on the floor.
Now GCC has a tracking system (we've recently switched to Bugzilla), and
this has allowed us to categorize bugs, not forget them, retest to see if
any have got fixed, postpone them, have some idea about the state of
development. In addition, there are some very useful bug triagers who
process the incomming bugs. It provides a ready to-do list for
anyone wishing to start GCC hacking. In short, it is a good thing.
