all the data sync should be made to work peer-to-peer. all the things that plug into desktopcouch should be able to do this easily, but desktopcouch been broken (crashes, wont pair) in the last few versions of ubuntu.

tomboy ssh sync is good. i can get several machines to sync to a remote server, and they all stay in sync.
