My company could switch to Linux now if it had a replacement for ACT & a good graphical environment for SQL, which allowed complete GUI usage including a graphical data entry screen

There is a graphical SQL application available for Linux using KDE. It's called Knoda, available at http://www.knoda.org .. I'm currently using it as a replacement for MS Access. Python scripting has just been introduced into it (testing stage, not stable yet), and it has forms/reports etc. It can't do everything though but it's good for data entry/queries etc and has a nice GUI as it uses Qt.

And it's open source of course, though there are a couple others out there, one costs around $79 or something but I forget the name, will post it here if I remember..

I've been running Linux on my desktop for around 3-4 months now and yes it can be a challenge finding replacement applications, but it's a worthy challenge...
