My n900 is lovely, a major step-up from the old Symbian "smart" phones I've had. But Meego looks like a major backward step from here.

Why? I have an n900 as well and I like it a lot. What's so different with Meego (except they should have more resources for development - now being Intel & Nokia - instead of just Nokia) ?
