I think the tough problem is having a heuristic that can say "this is (probably) encrypted". Perhaps better to see it as a developer utility (a sort of netlint) rather than a user warning system. Writing a doorman monitor for users, which would look for and complain about outgoing traffic would be a lower-hanging fruit.
