Jolicloud 1.0 released

The 1.0 release of the Jolicloud netbook-oriented distribution has been announced. It has various new features which will doubtless appeal to certain classes of users. "As you may have seen, we've made some changes to the Stream, making it a more social app-sharing experience. Now, in Jolicloud 1.0, you can 'like' apps, which will show up in your Stream. It will also list the app in your 'Favorite Apps'. Don't forget to use this new feature - it's helpful for other users to figure out what the most popular apps are in our growing App Center."

A search of their site gave me only:

This attitude is much too common.

It universally signals that they're Doing It Wrong. I don't think Jolicloud or other projects doing this warrant an LWN article unless it's about that.

The idea that other people's rights don't count until some time of your choosing (whether that's version 1.0 or after the IPO or whenever) is one that's worth highlighting. This is what Jolicloud believe, do they think it applies to your personal information too?

Jolicloud 3.0 - your privacy is important to us, and so from 3.0 Jolicloud will stop uploading your personal photos to our stock photography site for anyone to look at.

Floss project must be crystal clear about licensee disclosure and source code availability.
