Agreed; the issue is real but hardly urgent. And my experience with
heated topics suggests they rarely stay cool in mailing lists.
I realize that timezones are difficult, but I'd really like to suggest we
try a mumble meeting for every developer who is interested in this? I can
probably set up a server.

Exactly!
Generalize the words "just because you dislike the platform" to "for any
reason" and you've summed up the problem with these devices very well :(
